Public BBQ

A large, beautifully kept community park at Ginninderry with modern amenities throughout: toilets, barbecues, water fountains, hand washing facilities, shaded tables with bench seating and a designated carpark. Most of the site is shaded, which makes a real difference here. Walking tracks run through it with scenic views, and a bridge crosses the ponds where there is abundant birdlife and the occasional turtle. There are sports courts, climbing areas and a large open lawn. The playground is impressive, but it is squarely aimed at older children: of the five or six swings only one suits a toddler, so the little ones queue for it while the rest sit unused, and the slide is high and long enough to put off a nervous three-year-old.
